Discover the Magic of A Beach island Adventure Park Point, Duluth, Minnesota
by Everyday Kids Travel - Kids and Parents Travel Review
Nestled along the breathtaking shores of Lake Superior is Park Point Beach in Duluth, Minnesota. This idyllic destination offers a blend of natural beauty and a north coast city. The summer season is short for swimming as the water temperatures stay mostly cool as a refrigerator. The beauty of this peninsula is where Minnesota meets Wisconsin in the Great Lakes.

Park Point in Duluth, Minnesota is a really long beach on Lake Superior. You can have so much fun exploring the beach and lake. There's a lot of driftwood everywhere to play with. There's a cool trail where you can go on an adventure through the woods. I like the lighthouse and watching boats in the bay.
Park Point boasts a magnificent 7-mile stretch of sandy beach, making it a haven for water and nature enthusiasts alike.

Whether you're looking to sunbathe or dip your toes in summer into the waters of Lake Superior, you’ll enjoy this unique land strip. The beach is full of driftwood, a treasure on this island beach. Full sized logs to sit on as a break from the sand and long pieces to create little wind or sun shelters. The kids will find ways to play with all the driftwood from throwing it back into the water to making digging toys and using their imagination for anything they can think of creating.
Here in the world's longest freshwater sand bar you’ll find a quiet place to spend the day away. The summer months have lifeguards and bathrooms are available in the beach house. The Park Point Beach House offers a unique venue to rent for special events.

The Park Point Nature Trail offers a picturesque 4.4-mile (7.2 km) journey from the Park Point Beach House to the end of the point, where the original opening to the bay can be found. The trail meanders through an open field, around a small airport strip, and through a serene wooded area. Along the way, you'll be treated to breathtaking views of the Minnesota Point Lighthouse and see Wisconsin Point in Superior, Wisconsin at the end of the trail across the water.
The island town of Park Point truly comes alive with its vibrant community events and festivals. The annual Rummage Sale, held in mid-June, is a treasure trove for bargain hunters, offering an array of unique finds. In late July, the Park Point Art Fair showcases the talent of local artists, providing an opportunity to admire and purchase exquisite artwork. These events add a touch of excitement and charm to an already enchanting beach destination.
The Park Point neighborhood is a captivating mix of quaint cottages and charming homes. With properties overlooking Lake Superior or facing Superior Bay, residents are fortunate to have stunning views of either the waves crashing against the shoreline or the passing freighters and recreational boats. The neighborhood's eclectic character and the close-knit community make it a welcoming and delightful place to explore.
